‘Celebrating Queer Joy’ is an uplifting exhibition brought to you in collaboration of Pride Edinburgh and Carried Away,  honouring the beauty of queer joy in all its forms. We invite you to explore the multifaceted expressions of queer joy, from tender intimacy scenes to the resilience of chosen families.

These installations explore the complex intersection of gender identity and sexuality, inviting you to reflect on your own experience and celebrate the unique beauty of the queer identity. As you wander this exhibition, you will see pieces that explore the richness and complexity of queer relationships. You will see depictions of the beauty of trans bodies, portraits of queer couples captured in moments of blissful connection or chosen families celebrating their shared sense of belonging.

As you leave this collection, we hope you will carry a sense of queer joy’s power. By finding joy in our identities, relationships, and communities, we are resisting harmful narratives that believe queer people are somehow less worthy of love.

You are valid. You are beautiful. You are powerful.
